VARIABLE REFRIGERANT FLOW

Asami

  • The VRF abbreviation comes from Variable Refrigerant Flow.
  • VRF uses refrigerant as the cooling/heating medium and allows one outdoor
condensing unit to be connected to multiple indoor fan-coil units (FCU’s),
each individually controllable by its user, while modulating the amount of
refrigerant being sent to each evaporator.
  • By operating at varying speeds, VRF units work only at the needed rate
allowing for substantial energy savings at part-load conditions.
VRF system normally consists of:
  • Outdoor unit (1)
  • Multiple indoor units (2) (the whole system may consist of 6 or more
    devices – up to 80)
  • Connection network among outdoor unit and indoor units – double
    copper pipe (3)
  • Set of branching joints (as a connection element) (4).
  • ALL types of indoor units available: concealed, cabinet, cassette etc.
  • An air source VRF system is engineered to minimize or use no ductwork as
a saving, save on the cost of large distribution fans, multiple water pumps
    operation and water piping.
  • Energy efficient and easy to design, install, and maintain, a VRF system has
the lowest life cycle cost* of any system on the market today

Life cycle cost is the total cost of ownership of machinery and equipment,
including its cost of acquisition, operation, maintenance, conversion and/or
decommission.
